Home-based care
If you have been diagnosed HIV, or are caring for someone who is then the ways we can provide practical and emotional support.
- Provide a home based, one to one support and care to those people living with HIV in Hampshire, and particularly with those from marginalised groups, to relieve social isolation, to build self esteem and empower people, to improve mental health and wellbeing and to enable people to access statutory medical and social services
- Supporting people in adhering to treatment regimes in order to improve and maintain good health
- Acting as a referral agent for Crusaid and CWAC and operating a small hardship fund for clients, from unrestricted funds arising from individual donations and church support.
- Providing advocacy and support for benefits applications.
- Providing opportunities for peer support and opportunities to reduce social isolation.
- Providing transport for hospital visits, other statutory service visits and for social events.
Raising awareness of HIV
We're committed to raising the awareness of HIV by ...
- Providing education and training for groups in the community in order to challenge stigma and discrimination.
- Providing HIV and AIDS awareness training to volunteers
- Providing information and making presentations on the effect of HIV and AIDS globally and locally, and raising awareness of the issues faces and opportunities to respond to the needs of those affected by HIV and AIDS.
